100 Million Initiative Shares First Annual Update
The 100 Million Initiative has released its first Annual Update, sharing news of our progress towards the goal of helping deliver safe and reliable drinking water services to 100 million people by 2030.
Over the past year, we have worked with governments, professional service providers, NGOs and development partners in Africa and Asia to strengthen rural water services and scale innovative approaches to water security.
The update features major developments including government collaborations to expand SafePani in Bangladesh and to design and implement a results-based funding model for water services in schools and clinics in Zambia, alongside wider sector partnerships which advance results-based funding and water safety (WHO, UNICEF, Uptime, Global Water Center, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank).
The report also highlights wider public engagement through the Fair Water? exhibition, which explores the challenges and inequalities surrounding access to safe water. Following its initial run in Oxford, the exhibition has toured internationally to Bangladesh and the Philippines.
