Interactive Dialogue 6 – Investments for Water
Convened by the University of Oxford and the World Bank
A member state side event led by the Governments of Bangladesh, Ghana, India, Uganda and Zambia. We will examine the role of results-based funding (RBF) to deliver safe drinking water for rural communities, clinics and schools. The event will build on Bangladesh’s session at UN Water 2023, World Bank Payment for Results’ programs, and application of RBF for 7 million rural people in 16 countries. Global lessons will be of benefit to member states and DFIs facing challenges of sustaining reliable and safe drinking water for existing water supply infrastructure and for new infrastructure investments under fiscal constraints, climate impacts and social inequalities. The event will discuss a global School Water Sustainability Fund to accelerate progress and impacts.
